Never. No charity can pay to appear on your list. We don't take a cut of what you give or add a hidden tip, and every charity on the register has the same chance of being picked for you.

How do you choose which charities to recommend?

We search every charity's own description of its work for what you told us you care about. Then we score the closest 25 on five things, like what they focus on and who they help. Only charities that score at least 70 out of 100 make your list. Read how we choose.

Are the charities real and registered?

Yes. Every charity we recommend is on the Charity Commission register for England and Wales. Each match links to its page on the register, so you can see what it does, who runs it and its latest accounts before you give.
